A RED FLAG WARNING is in effect today for most of eastern Kansas. No outdoor burning will be permitted.

Very high fire danger is expected today and Monday. Please make sure any brush piles you already burned are completely out and cold!

Make sure that if you choose a live Christmas tree,  you keep it properly watered!

Slow down and move over when you approach emergency vehicles stopped on the highway! 

Last night, SHFD Firefighters fought a brush fire moving through heavy timber along SE Stubbs Road.

Closing your door while you sleep could just save your life.
